We would like to take this opportunity to introduce our company to you. The name FC Sherman & Co (Heating) Limited has been in the heating industry since its inception in 1962. Originally part of a construction company FC Sherman & Co (Ealing) Ltd built executive homes and installed central heating as a standard fixture. Receiving more and more enquiries from customers interested in having central heating installed in their homes it was eventually decided by Len and Fred Kelsey to set up a separate heating company.
At the time, the central heating industry was originally promoted by the National Coal Board as a market for their fuel. It was taken up by oil companies like Shell-Mex and BP to utilize the by-products of petrol, diesel and paraffin. We co-operated with these companies, starting on the ground floor, providing scaled down versions of commercial systems for domestic use. We have grown with the industry, taking each new piece of technology on board to provide the most sophisticated systems available.
All this means that the company can guarantee a first class installation with full back up. Our past customers have included several London Boroughs, The Property Services Agency — a government Association which supplies the Ministries and the Armed Forces. Now concentrating on just the domestic market, we undertake all types of domestic heating installations, Landlords Safety Certificates, gas work, boiler servicing and break down.
The central heating industry is gradually approaching saturation point, with over 85% of homes already having installed it as a necessity. This does not mean less work for us, on the contrary, statistics show that the average householder moves home every seven years. Loyal customers of FC Sherman & Co (Heating) Ltd take the company with them and install or update heating in their new homes, conversions, lofts and extensions.
